We encourage the parents of our student-athletes, and anyone else that wants to have a positive impact on the next generation of mountain bikers, to join us as coaches. Coaches are the developmental driver of student-athletes in the Blankets Creek Family of teams. You do not need to be an experienced mountain biker to be a Coach, you only need to possess a positive desire to mentor youth.
Coaches receive training and certification in the Georgia Cycling Association Coach Licensing program. Annual requirements include:
Background Check ($35 for first-year coaches)
Waiver and Participation Agreement
Abuse Awareness
Concussion Training
Applicable fees ($40 for 2024)
Level 2 and 3 coaches have additional requirements (see link above)
Have not ridden a bike in a while? Concerned about your skills or fitness level?
No need to be.
Like our student-athletes, our coaches' skill levels range from elite to beginner. During the Certification process, you will learn the skills you need to coach the student-athletes. We'll work to match you up with a rider group of similar abilities during practices. While improving the skills and abilities of the student-athletes must be the focus during practice, just riding with them will give you opportunities to improve your skill and fitness levels, as well.
